(PLEASE BE ADVISED- There is a video within the presentation where viewer discretion is advised. Video is at 10:23 in the presentation) On March 30, 2011, the Faculty Collaborative hosted, "The Rules of Engagement Classroom Edition 2011... and Beyond", by Kenn Venit. Students today learn differently from how you did when you were in college. It takes an updated skill-set to teach as effectively as possible to succeed. Communication theory says if you fail to communicate with your students, it is your fault --not theirs! (OK, the theory has some flaws, but there are ways to improve your chances of success.) Kenn is a part-time associate professor in the Quinnipiac University School of Communications. He is also a QU301 instructor focusing on "The Global Village" and how changes in technology have changed us as earthlings. His 45+ years of experience in communications and his award-winning teaching experience (Quinnipiac University Excellence in Teaching Award 2006 and Quinnipiac University Student Government Association Outstanding Faculty Award 2010) help assure a compelling, thought-provoking, and memorable personal and professional experience for you.
